The Jones/Donati Lab participated in the 2024 Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry in Tucson, AZ, with three poster presentations by Beatriz Fontoura, Jesse Ingham and Nick Judd, and a lecture and short course on new calibration methods by Prof. George Donati.

In his first conference as a graduate student, Nick Judd already received an award for his poster presentation on “Neural networks to improve the performance of external standard calibration applied to microwave-induced plasma optical emission spectrometry” at theĀ 2024 Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry, which took place in Tucson, Arizona, in January of 2024.
Congratulations, Nick!

Beatriz Fontoura, a postdoc in the Jones/Donati Lab, also received a poster award at the Tucson, AZ, 2024 Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry for her presentation “Analysis of isotonic and energy drinks by MIP-OES: Evaluation of multi-internal standard calibration (MISC) to improve accuracy“.
Well done, Bia. We are all very proud of you!

Jesse Ingham received an award for his poster presentation on “Standard dilution analysis using an automatic sampler and a peristaltic pump stopping step for fast, accurate multi-element determinations by ICP-OES” at the 2022 Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry, which took place in Tucson, Arizona, in January of 2022.
Well done, Jesse! And at your first conference, no less!
